Today I want to propose the meditation of an old prayer that can be found in some books as preparation for mass, it is called «Quincque puncta» (Five points), it can be a huge aid to cultivate our love for God, let’s meditate in each point taking some of our time, see what each of them awakes in us, we could ask ourselves, what do I feel or think when I read this part of the prayer? why do I feel this or think this? do I feel encouraged to do something? Bottom line is about to pay attention to what the Holy Spirit tries to inspire us.

I detest and abhor my each and every sin, and those of all others committed from the beginning of the world until this hour and that will be committed from now unto the end of the world: and, if I could, I would impede them by the grace of God, which on my knees I call upon.

I praise and approve of every good work done from the beginning of the world until this hour and that will be done from now unto end of the world; and if I could, I would multiply them by the grace of God, which on my knees I call upon.

I intend to act, to speak, and to think all things for the greater glory of God, with all those good intentions which the Saints ever had, or will have, or can have

With all my heart I pardon and forgive all my enemies, all those who attack me falsely, all my detractors, and all who have injured me in any way, or have wished evil things upon me. (Curiuous fact, It is said that saint John XXIII used to repeat often this part)

 Would that I could save all men by dying on behalf of each! I would  do this freely by the grace of God, which I humbly implore on my knees, and without which I can do nothing

Hoy propongo la meditación de una oración que se encuentra en algunos libros de oración como preparación para la misa, se llama «Quincque puncta» (Cinco puntos), mientras vamos rezándolos, despacio veamos que cosas suscitan en nuestro interior, que sentimientos o pensamientos nos vienen o que acciones me siento motivado a realizar, preguntandonos también, el por qué de esto, de dónde viene, hacia donde me lleva, en ultima instancia es estar atentos a lo que el Espíritu Santo nos pueda estar inspirando.

Detesto y aborrezco todos y cada uno de mis pecados, y todos los otros pecados cometidos desde el principio del mundo hasta ahora, y todos los que serán cometidos hasta el fin del mundo: y, si pudiera, los impediría por la gracia de Dios, lo cual invoco suplicante.

Alabo y apruebo todas las obras buenas hechas desde el principio del mundo hasta ahora, y todas las que se harán hasta el fin del mundo; y si pudiera, las multiplicaría por la gracia de Dios, lo cual invoco suplicante.

Me propongo actuar, hablar y pensar todo para la mayor gloria de Dios, y con todas aquellas buenas intenciones que los santos alguna vez tuvieron, tienen o puedan tener.

Olvido y perdono de todo corazón a todos mis enemigos, a todos los que me han calumniado, a todos mis detractores, y a todos que me han hecho o deseado algún daño. (Dato curioso: Se dice que san Juan XXIII repetía frecuentemente esta parte)

¡Ojalá pudiera salvar a todos los hombres muriendo por cada uno! Libremente lo haría, por la gracia de Dios, que imploro suplicante, y sin cuál no puedo hacer nada.
